Creative Psychotherapy for Children and Young People
Children often experience big feelings they don’t yet have the words to explain. Creative psychotherapy offers a safe, child-friendly space where those feelings can be explored through play, art, movement, and imagination—at a pace and in a way that makes sense to them.

A Safe Space to Be Themselves
In creative therapy, children are never expected to “talk it all through” unless they want to. Instead, we follow their lead. They might choose to draw, build, paint, play with objects or figures, or just talk. Every child is different, and each session is shaped around what helps them feel safe and understood.
There’s no pressure to be “creative” or to do anything in a certain way. This is their space to express what they need, however that looks.

Working Together With Parents, Schools and Other Professionals
For younger children, regular check-ins with parents or carers are an important part of the process, helping to support the child’s wellbeing both inside and outside of the therapy room. Your insight and observations are highly valued, and your involvement is warmly welcomed. Where appropriate, Amy-Lou also works collaboratively with schools, healthcare providers, and other professionals involved in your child’s care. This holistic approach ensures that everyone supporting the child is connected and working together to create the most nurturing and consistent environment possible, tailored to your child’s unique needs and circumstances.
